Proceeding: International Symposium on Intangible Heritage along the Maritime Silkroad
On 13 September 2018, experts of the Asia-Pacific region gathered to discuss maritime topics. Organized and hosted by ICHCAP and the National Research Institute of Maritime Cultural Heritage, the symposium, in two sessions, allowed an opportunity to discuss issues related to traditional shipbuilding and navigation skills as well as traditional maritime knowledge in contemporary life.\n\nThis report is composed of seven presentation papers from seven countries, namely China, ROK, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, PNG, and Madagascar, regarding on transmission of traditional ship making and navigation skills.\n

2020 Intangible Cultural Heritage NGO’s Strategy in Achieving Sustainable Development: Goal 2. Zero Hunger
"“Intangible Cultural Heritage NGO’s Strategy in Achieving Sustainable Development: Goal 2. Zero Hunger” is the 3rd outcome of ICHCAP’s Project PINA, or Project Promoting ICH Safeguarding Activities of NGOs in the Asia-Pacific Region.\n\nThis book is a collection of eight selected NGO activities on ICH that are vital to achieving food security from six countries namely, Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Nepal, Tajikistan, and Viet Nam. It provides an opportunity to look into community-based NGO activities and experience that greatly contribute to the promotion of local communities’ welfare by revitalizing and transmitting ICH. Significantly, their approach emphasizes the relationship between ICH and SDG 2: Zero Hunger through their projects on food security and improved nutrition, and sustainable agriculture.\n\nICHCAP hopes that local, regional, and global public awareness about NGOs and their ICH safeguarding activities in the Asia-Pacific region will be substantially raised by this book."

Animals personified in stories convey a message to the human world-that of peace and harmony. At a time when a message of peace is desperately needed, let’s enjoy some stories featuring various animals, from tigers to birds, rabbits, monkeys, and more.

Building and Sharing Intangible Cultural Heritage Information
This report includes the presentation papers of the participants and a summary of the discussions that took place at the meeting. The general discussion topics for the three sections are Implementation of 2003 Convention and International Cooperation; Strengthening Collaborative Network through ICH Information Sharing; and Building Information Systems—Identification, Documentation, and Archives. The individual papers go into detail about building online systems for sharing ICH information, protecting intellectual property, maintaining and strengthening regional and sub-regional cooperation, and other related subjects.

2020 Living Heritage Series: Traditional Martial Arts
ICHCAP published the book Living Heritage Series – Traditional Martial Arts in collaboration with UNESCO International Centre of Martial Arts (ICM). The Living Heritage Series is a serial publication on regional/national transmission and safeguarding of intangible cultural heritage elements. It focuses on a different topic each time, discussing the relevant intangible cultural heritage of various regions to raise the visibility of cultural diversity emphasized by the UNESCO.\n\nLiving Heritage Series-Traditional Martial Arts showcases creative and historical traditional Martial Arts from around the world through contributions from 19 writers in various countries.

Creative Value of ICH for Sustainable Development
This report includes presentation papers and a discussion summary of the three sessions that took place during the conference. The first chapter, “What Is the Significance of the 2003 Convention,” includes papers on the historical meaning and current situation of the Convention. The second chapter, “How to Safeguard the Value of ICH,” reviews measures on how ICH can promote cultural diversity, sustainable development of humanity, and social development in developing countries. The last chapter, “How to Promote Better ICH for Sustainable Development,” includes country reports that outline the efforts each participating country has taken to promote and use ICH.
