| Description | 결혼식은 우즈베크인의 사회생활에서 매우 중요한 역할을 한다. 다양한 전통, 의례, 축하 의식이 포함된 결혼식은 그들에게 새로운 가족의 탄생을 의미하는 일생일대의 중요한 행사다. 하지만 결혼은 젊은 남녀의 결합, 새로운 삶의 출발일 뿐만 아니라 사회의 중요한 규범 안으로 이들이 진입하고 가문의 전통 유산을 계승하는 엄숙한 의식이기도 하다. 우즈베크인의 결혼식은 식전, 예식, 식후 등 3개 의식으로 이뤄지며, 이들 의식은 역사, 종교, 사회 요건에 따라 지역별로 다양하게 나타난다. 이 글에서는 페르가나 계곡 지대의 결혼식을 중심으로 살폈다. | ||

Wedding ceremony
“Nikoh”, being Arabic word, means official solemnization ofnmarriage, matrimony, based on Shariah. Festivity on the occasion of wedding bears different names in different places of Uzbekistan, i.e. “nikoh toyi”, “ijob toyi”, “uy tushirar toyi”, “kata yaloq qizartirar toyi”, etc. Wedding comprises of several ceremonies and rituals, such as “uy korar” (or “qiz korar”), “sovchilik”, “sep takhlar”, “toqqiz berish” (or “toqqiz tavoq”), “qiz oshi” (or “qizlar majlisi”), “kelin tushirish”, “baqon tutish”, “yuz ochdi”, “kelin salom”, “chorlari” and the customs associated with them. They have been preserved till nowadays and the tradition is still followed.
