Description It is made of Yamane ( Gemelina arborea). The body of the violin ( Kayan ) is made of Yamane (Gemelina arborea ) and covered with Yamane (Gemelina arborea). There are two string or four strings in this instrument. The bow is made of bamboo slat. To produce sound, the bow is rubbed by resin of inn trees. Since yore, this violin has been preserved and handed down from generation to generation as a traditional heritage. There is no exact record in what year and era it appeared. It can be played together with violin, drum and timing cymbals and clapper which are Kayans’ traditional instruments.
