Description	On 12 and 13 November 2020, ICHCAP and the ICH NGO Forum virtually held the 2020 ICH NGO Conference entitled “ICH and Resilience in Crisis.” The fifteen participants, including eleven selected presenters from ten countries around the world, discussed various cases and activities of each country applied under the Corona-era, and proposed solidarity for the resilience of ICH for a ‘New Normal.’ Session 1: In the Vortex: COVID-19 Era, Roles of NGOs to Safeguard ICH Special Lecture 1: 'Resilience System Analysis' by Roberto Martinez Yllescas, Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in Mexico 1. This experience led her to understand immaterial cultural heritage (ICH) both as a catalyst and a mean for building community well-being as well as contributing to cultural and territorial preservation, rather than as a result on itself. She shared this ICH understanding experience with the lesson for NGO.

Yuen Long Community Intangible Cultural Heritage Development Project is a proposal of the Life Encouraging Fund, a non-governmental organization based in Yuen Long district. This pilot project is an exemplar of an NGO working for community-based ICH education and transmission with a holistic development model. Kai-kwong Choi introduced activities of the project implemented by the Life Encouraging Fund.

VI00000279 Enlivening Dyeing Tradition and ICH: The initiative of ARHI in North East of India
Dibya Jyoti Borah, President of ARHI introduces the role of ARHI in safeguarding of ICH. Established in 2008, ARHI is collaboration of individuals belonging to the indigenous tribe, activist working for the cultural-educational rights of native people. It is a wider platform for all indigenous communities to discuss and reflect upon challenges and problems faced by indigenous communities as well as finding the best means to address those concerns. It is a grassroots organization comprising all small & big indigenous communities.

VI00000278 The Popular Reaction to COVID-19 from the Intangible Cultural Heritage among Member Cities of the ICCN
ICCN, Interurban Cooperation Network for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, is an international organization of local governments and cultural institutions which includes 31 states, 29 cities and 34 associations. Its main objective is the protection of the intangible cultural heritage around the world and the promotion of sustainable local development. Moreover, it also seeks to achieve cultural peace through mutual understanding and intercultural dialogue between the different populations that are part of it. Julio Nacher shared some good examples of cultural events that successfully held in pandemic situation.

Jeff M. Poulin notes an analysis of a set of ICH NGOs identified by the United Nation’s Education, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) recognized for their 'good practices' in the early months of the global pandemic. And He provided a discussion overlaying his findings with the theoretical modeling in hopes of illuminating some lessons which can be taken on by ICH organizations as they move forward through this and other crises.

VI00000275 Promoting Heritage Education through Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Kalasha Valleys of Pakistan
Ghiasuddin Pir & Meeza Ubaid introduces the activities of THAAP, the only UNESCO accredited NGO under the Convention 2003 from Pakistan, initiated the process of community-based inventorying (CBI) of Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) among the Kalasha community. THAAP, in collaboration with UNESCO, funded by the Embassy of Switzerland, has worked towards inclusive documentation processes of forty-five intangible cultural heritage from the five listed ICH domains. Furthermore, THAAP endeavored at cultural education activities in Kalasha.

For the NGOs of Korea, the common factor in dealing with the pandemic was for the ICH communities to absorb online activities and become fluent in online platforms for ICH safeguarding. But Bridging the digital gap is still remaining. So Hanhee Hahm, presented experience of COVID-19 and engagement of her with the ICH Community and counter measures against the pandemic society.

VI00000272 Geographical imbalance: the challenge of getting a more balanced representation of accredited non-governmental organizations under the 2003 Convention
The unbalanced geographical distribution of accredited NGOs was identified as one of the major concerns by the General Assembly, the Committee and the Secretariat when the reflection process on the advisory role of accredited NGOs started at 12.COM in 2017. One of the recent actions to address the challenge is an initiative towards the establishment of aworking group for the ICH NGO Forum dealing with regional imbalance of accredited ICH NGOs. The initiative came from our NGO, the Finnish Folk Music Institute, and was endorsed by the ICH NGO Forum Steering Committee. The working group will start discussions based on the possible measures received via the survey and work with the aim to overcome the ongoing imbalance.

For revitalize local crafts after COVID 19 pandemic, Joseph Lo proposes that in order to build greater resilience for the crafts sector to mitigate against future crisis, it is imperative to strengthen the linkages of craft products not only with other sectors but within the cultural system which it was initially made for. Focusing on the two case-studies - one in Bamiyan, Afghanistan, Joseph Lo suggested a new approach to prevent negative consequences of future global crisis.

A growing interest in cultural heritage by the corporate sector has offered new opportunities to safeguard, protect, and present both tangible and intangible heritage. Through strategic investments of capital, expertise, and technology into the cultural sector, corporations offer an opportunity to revitalize a sector beleaguered with precarious government funding and unpredictable public support. Nicholas Pozek stressed that the cultural sector must continue to approach the commoditization and commodification of cultural goods with skepticism.
