Drum dance festival of the Giáy ethnic group is also known as New Year celebrating festival that begins from the morning of the first day of the new year and lasts until the end of the first lunar month. This is an opportunity for people to give offerings to the gods and their ancestors to pray for good harvests, prosperity and happiness in the New year and to get rid of misfortune of the old year. At the same time, this is also an opportunity for everyone to have fun and rest after a year of hard work, together singing their own folk songs and dancing to the beat of the drums |
