| Description | Southeast Asia ICH Video Documentary (Philippines) The environment surrounding intangible cultural heritage (ICH) is changing rapidly in the face of waves of rapid urbanization and globalization. In the face of such changes, documenting actual scenes of ICH in video form presents one of the most effective ways of identifying trends in ongoing developments and raising the profile of ICH. However, achieving this requires robust support and coordinated efforts due to the relative inadequacy of the conditions for producing such documentary material in the Asia-Pacific region. The International Information and Networking Centre for Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Asia-Pacific Region under the auspices of UNESCO (ICHCAP) shines a light on the ICH of Asia-Pacific and introduces its value to the public through video projects depicting ICH. ICHCAP conducts joint projects with member states to portray real-life scenes of ICH alongside experts, communities, NGOs, and other stakeholders in various countries. As a result, it has produced fifty videos on the ICH of Central Asia through the phase-one joint project on Central Asia and an additional fifty videos through the phase-two video project on the ICH of Southeast Asia. These videos are being screened through broadcasting companies and at film festivals in each country, in addition to distribution via YouTube and other channels. Videos represent the most accurate method of capturing ICH as it exists in the real world, as well as being effective tools for communicating with the public. ICHCAP will endeavor to continue vividly documenting the scenes of ICH that are hidden across the Asia-Pacific region with the aim of raising the profile of ICH elements as treasures of humanity and introducing them to the public. This collection includes 10 ICH videos produced by the NCCA in collaboration with ICHCAP. Buklog: Subanen Thanksgiving Ritual
The Buklog is a thanksgiving ritual practiced by the Subanen people in Southern Philippines, and is one of the most spectacular and elaborate rituals in the nation. This video follows the Buklog Thindeg, which is performed together by several communities in the Zamboanga Peninsula. Participants hold sacred an elevated wooden structure called the Buklog, from which the ritual derives its name, while dancing and singing to please the spirits. The Buklog is a powerful ritual to unite the Subanen community, but it faces an uncertain future due to urbanization and modernization.

Traditional Piña Handloom Weaving
Piña fiber weaving is a style of traditional weaving practiced in the Aklan region of the Philippines that uses pineapple leaf fibers. Considered to be the most beautiful fabric in the Philippines, Piña cloth is highly durable despite its delicate appearance. The traditional knowledge and techniques of Piña weaving are passed down within families. This video demonstrates the entire process of Piña fiber weaving from harvesting pineapple leaves to making elegant traditional attire. It also introduces the backstory of how its masters started the practice and the influence of the craft culture on their lives.

Our Lady Of Peñafrancia
Our Lady of Peñafrancia is a wooden statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary that is venerated in Naga City, Bicol Region, the Philippines. The image is known to devotees by the title Ina, the local term for "mother", and serves as a place of spiritual tranquility. The feast of Our Lady of Peñafrancia is celebrated every September at a site by the Naga Rivere. This video contains footage of the festival, vividly illustrating the intangible meaning and value of the celebration and the beliefs that connect and unite people of different region and generations.

Traditional Mud Dyeing in Ifugao Province
The traditional mud-based dyeing technique of Ifugao Province is a core process of Ikat, a style of weaving that uses a resist dyeing process and involves tie-dyeing yarns. Applying mud before dyeing improves the penetration of the dye into the textile, resulting in more vivid colors. In this process, mud acts as a traditional and eco-friendly mordant. The Ifugao mud-dyeing techniques is now at risk of vanishing due to the development of commercial dyeing. This video introduces the various steps of the process from mud collecting to dye production and textile dyeing.
